Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars This book provides invaluable insight into internet dating   February 13, 2010

I really enjoyed reading Mark Anthony Hall's book on internet dating. I have been online and looked at the many men who profess their interest in having a serious relationship. Most women would think these men were sincere and were looking for true love. However, Mark's book provides invaluable insight into exactly how many of those men really view the women who have posted their photos and profiles on dating internet site. While many women and some men) may be sincere, many others consider the dating sites as "candy stores" just full of vulnerable women eagerly waiting to meet the man of their dreams. These men will take advantage of the women if they can. Mark cautions men and women about the kind of image they project with the photos and profiles they post. Seldom are people truly who they present themselves to be online. I had had my own negative experience with someone online. A man who was also perusing a dating site late in the evening sent me an instant message. Very quickly into our communication he asked for my email address so we could communicate more freely. I was naive and gave it to him. Before long, he asked me to send him money so he could get his son away from his ex-wife. He did not know me and I did not know him. When I refused, he tapped into my internet dating account and began sending emails to all kinds of men expressing my interest in them. I was outraged and a little frightened that someone could access my account. He also tried to tap into my personal email. I complained to the site but it created the need to close my account. I wish I had read Mark's book earlier. With the wisdom he provides, I might have been spared that negative experience. I learned a lot reading the book, and highly recommend it to anyone who is considering seeking companionship through internet dating. The words of wisdom and caution were invaluable.
